Clinical Director – Behavioral Health
Washington, DC | Full-Time | Senior Leadership
A community behavioral health organization in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead clinical operations, compliance, quality, and performance across Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS) and integrated behavioral health programs.
Role Highlights
- Executive leadership role reporting to senior leadership
- Oversight of MHRS, clinical teams, quality improvement, billing alignment, and regulatory compliance
- Key contributor to strategic planning, program development, and organizational performance
- Serves as the Credible EHR Administrator—managing workflows, forms, permissions, reporting, and staff training
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise clinical teams; support high‑risk and complex cases
- Ensure compliance with DC DBH, Medicaid, accreditation, and payer requirements
- Monitor documentation, productivity, caseloads, treatment planning, and service utilization
- Partner with QI, Billing, HR, Intake, Medical/Psychiatric, and SUD programs
- Represent the organization with DBH, payers, referral partners, and community stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in a behavioral health discipline
- Independent DC license (LPC, LICSW, LMFT, APRN, MD, etc.)
- 3+ years of behavioral health leadership or clinical supervision
- Strong knowledge of DC DBH, Medicaid, documentation standards, and medical necessity
- EHR proficiency; ability to achieve advanced Credible competency
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years leadership experience
- Experience with DC DBH‑certified providers
- Advanced Credible EHR experience
- Background with MHRS, SUD, psychiatric services, audits, or accreditation
