Job description

Locum Optometrist (OD) needed in Saint Croix Township, Maine

License: WILL WAIT FOR LICENSE. AGENCY WILL PAY FOR LICENSE.

Rate: $140/hr + Travel

Start: ASAP! As soon as credentialed/licensed.

Setting: Outpatient Clinic

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Optometrist to join our collaborative outpatient team. This role offers strong clinical support, modern equipment, and schedule flexibility in a well-equipped practice setting.

Schedule:
Flexible scheduling options available:
Traditional 4-day or 5-day work week
Alternative schedule of three 12-hour days possible for candidates seeking longer days and a reduced weekly hour commitment (less than 40 hours)

Clinical Details:
Typical patient volume: approximately 2 patients per hour
Actual weekly patient volume will vary based on scheduled clinical hours and compensation structure
Technology & Equipment

Currently using eClinicalWorks (transitioning to Athena in the coming year)

All new clinical equipment purchased within the past year, including:
Optos imaging system
Humphrey visual field analyzer
Support Team

Dedicated support of 2 clinical team members for the Optometrist
Additional front-office support from 2 team members on the same floor who primarily assist with Dental and Vision services
