1hr West of Kansas City - LocumTenens Hospitalist needed **ASAP**

Job description

Urgent Hospitalist need for LocumTenens coverage 1hr outside of Kansas City.

• March 2017 - Ongoing
• Privileging within two days including obtaining a DEA if necessary.
• BC or BE IM
• 16 PPD – 1/3 admitting, 1/3 second day patient rounding, 1/3 discharges
• 25 bed critical access hospital – largest in KS
• Vent management
• Physician shift time 6a-6p with 6p-6a call for consults – day after last shift come in at 6am to hand off patients to next provider
• Midlevel shift time 6p-6a
• Midlevels admit and sign transfer orders at night
• Hospitalist is second call at night
• Very rare when a provider will receive a call 0-1 average per night
• Very rare when a provider is called back in – ER would have to be busy with no time to assist midlevel nocturnist
• No codes
• OB/GYN, Ped, Cardiology, 24 hour cath lab
• Transfer patients to Stormont, KU, or Wichita
• Open 6 bed TeleMed ICU – 1 ½ patient average – Hospitalist only has to round on patients weaning off of vents
• Meditech Magic EMR – Simple written progress note dictation as well – order entry
• All travel will be paid for
• Only KS licensed candidates
