Medical Oncology Locums | Fond du Lac, WI | Outpatient Clinic + Infusion Center | Weekday Days

Job description

Start: November 1, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 13 weeks preferred; coverage need runs through July 31, 2027
Coverage: Weekday day-shift coverage in a hospital-based outpatient oncology clinic and infusion center, plus inpatient rounding
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00-16:30 (5x8s template); 2 hours gratis
Call: Second call every third weekend
Volume: Approximately 8 patients/day primary caseload; 15-20 outpatient visits/day; approximately 2 inpatient rounding patients/day; average daily census 8
Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic with 13-chair infusion center; inpatient rounding independently and with the APP team
Case Mix: Approximately 85% oncology / 15% hematology - breast, lung (NSCLC/SCLC), colorectal, prostate, pancreatic, gynecologic, head and neck, melanoma and other skin cancers

New patient consults and follow-up visits
Treatment oversight including IV/oral chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, and clinical trials
Chemotherapy supervision and orders; management of oncologic emergencies
Inpatient rounding independently and alongside the APP team
Participation in tumor boards and multidisciplinary case reviews
APP supervision permitted under facility bylaws
Timely documentation in Epic and Aria

Requirements
MD/DO, Board Certified in Medical Oncology
Wisconsin license required; IMLC/compact accepted (no licensing assistance available)
BLS required
Chemotherapy Certification (ONS) and Bone Marrow Biopsy certification
Minimum 1-3 years experience
COVID-19 vaccination required - medical/religious exemptions only
Online EMR modules or pre-employment training must be completed before first day
Travel billable: airfare, hotel/lodging, rental car, and mileage

8:00-16:30 weekday clinic days
Inpatient rounding daily
Call: second call every third weekend
