Outpatient Medical Oncology Locums in Southern Minnesota | M-F 8:00-4:30 | No Call | Infusion Clinic
Job description
Start: November 9, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed; emergency privileges may be available for a faster start)
Length: 13 weeks (flexible; potential for a 6-month contract with option to extend)
Coverage: Outpatient infusion and oncology clinic, Monday through Friday
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00-16:30 (5x8s template); December availability highly preferred
Call: No call
Volume: 13-20 patients per day
Practice Setting: Outpatient oncology clinic with onsite infusion center at a critical access facility - 5 exam rooms, 9 infusion chairs, 2 private infusion treatment rooms, 2 fast-track triage rooms
Scope: Broad outpatient oncology and hematology population, including solid tumors and hematologic conditions requiring active management; patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive oncology therapies. No radiation oncology on site. Palliative care and telehealth available.
New patient consults, diagnosis, and treatment planning
Chemotherapy oversight and ongoing disease management in a connected clinic and infusion model
Morning review of labs and imaging, followed by new consults and follow-up visits
Afternoon clinic with coordination alongside the infusion team to approve treatments, address lab abnormalities, and manage urgent needs
Collaboration with surgery, radiology, and pathology; access to clinical trials through NCI-supported research programs
Charting completed within 24 hours
Support: Oncology nurse navigator, oncology clinic RNs and LPNs, infusion nursing team, oncology research nurse, onsite radiology and lab, oncology social worker, dietitian, mental health support, financial navigator, cancer rehabilitation and survivorship services, centralized prior authorization, and palliative care and genetic counseling via telehealth. APP support is being added.
Requirements
Board Certified in Medical Oncology
Minnesota license required; IMLC accepted (open to licensure - licensure support provided)
COVID-19 vaccination not required
Onsite coverage preferred, with some telehealth coverage open to discussion
Full-time coverage highly preferred; may consider splitting coverage between two providers
Travel and lodging support included: economy airfare (up to 2 roundtrips per month), lodging, rental car, and free onsite parking.
