Facility:
This opportunity is based at an 867-bed tertiary care center that serves as the flagship hospital of a major regional healthcare system. The facility houses a comprehensive cancer institute with oversight of oncologic care across a 7-hospital network serving a third of Connecticut's population, and has maintained a strategic partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center since 2014.

Opportunity:
Physician - Hematology & Oncology

Job Details:

  • Join a team of 4 breast medical oncologists serving a busy breast service with over 600 new cases of breast cancer annually
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team of fellowship-trained breast surgeons and medical and radiation oncologists sub-specializing in breast cancer
  • Collaborate with fellowship-trained pathologists, radiologists, reconstructive surgeons, a mature genetic counseling program, and an active nurse navigator program
  • Participate in active clinical trial and health disparities research programs as a main member of SWOG and NRG
  • Opportunities available to engage in teaching, clinical research, and quality/outcomes research
  • Contribute to programs in survivorship, high risk care, patient education, and breast rehabilitation services currently in development
  • Participate in weekly Hartford Hospital Breast Tumor Board meetings to discuss individual patient management
  • Work within a physician-led organization with support for personal development and well-being through dedicated leadership development and provider wellness programs
  • Position is open to mid-career medical oncologists as well as physicians completing fellowship with an interest in breast oncology
  • Board Certification in Hematology & Oncology and Internal Medicine required
  • Must be eligible for licensure in the State of Connecticut
  • Demonstrated experience practicing within a multidisciplinary team model of care for breast patients required
  • Academic accomplishment in clinical trials or quality improvement is highly desirable
