Interventional Cardiology - High-Acuity STEMI & Cath Lab Coverage

A community hospital is seeking an Interventional Cardiologist for a high-acuity locum tenens assignment supporting STEMI coverage, inpatient cardiology services, and interventional procedures. This is a structured, block-scheduled opportunity with a strong procedural focus and significant inpatient responsibility.

Clinical Responsibilities
Providers will support a full spectrum of interventional cardiology services, including:
STEMI call coverage (weekday and weekend rotation)
Cardiac catheterizations
Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
Echocardiogram interpretation
Inpatient and outpatient cardiology consults
Cardiac procedural management and hospital-based care

Practice Environment
Acute care community hospital setting
Dedicated cardiology service with structured coverage blocks
Moderate inpatient census with active procedural demand
Collaborative hospital-based cardiology workflow
Combination of inpatient consults and procedural lab coverage

Schedule Overview
Rotating blocks of:
Day shifts with inpatient/procedural coverage
Night STEMI call coverage
24-hour STEMI call shifts
Weekday and weekend STEMI responsibilities included
High-intensity but structured scheduling model with defined coverage blocks

Ideal Candidate
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
DEA required
Comfortable with STEMI activation and emergency cath lab response
Strong experience with cath lab procedures, TEE, and inpatient cardiology management
Able to function in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital environment
