Facility:
This is a small, community-based hospital with a friendly and supportive nursing staff and a collegial working relationship between the ED team and surgeons. The facility features a strong case management team to support the discharge process of medical patients, as well as a strong overnight hospitalist MD team, creating a collaborative and physician-respected environment.

Job Details:

• Full-time permanent Physician Hospitalist position beginning October 2026 and ongoing
• 7-10 shifts per month, 12-hour shifts (7a-7p), in-person coverage required during shifts
• Schedule can be broken into 2 blocks for flexibility
• Weekend coverage is expected
• No call coverage required
• 100% adult inpatient and observation patient population with 100% in-hospital admissions
• Average of 15-20 patients per day with split patient load; collaborate with experienced NP on weekdays
• Respond to codes and rapid responses
• Ventilator management experience preferred; management of step-down level patients required
• No procedures required
• Level 3 trauma capabilities facility
• EMR system: Cerner Community Works
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with hospitalist work experience required
• Vermont medical license required or willingness to obtain
• 1-2 years of hospitalist or comparable inpatient adult medicine experience required
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required
• Estimated credentialing timeframe of 90 days pending timely Vermont state license
• Travel reimbursements approved for lodging and mileage at IRS rate
