Facility:
This is a small, community-based hospital that fosters a collaborative and physician-respected environment. The facility features a friendly and supportive nursing staff, a collegial working relationship with the ED team and surgeons, a strong case management team to support the discharge process, and a strong overnight hospitalist MD team.

Job Details:
- Locum tenens physician hospitalist position beginning October 2026 and ongoing
- 7-10 shifts per month, 12-hour shifts (7a-7p), with in-person presence required in the unit/hospital during each shift
- Schedule can be broken into 2 blocks
- Weekend coverage is expected
- No call coverage required
- 100% adult inpatient and observation population with 100% in-hospital admissions
- Average of 15-20 patients per day; split patient load and work alongside an experienced NP on weekdays
- Level 3 trauma capabilities facility
- Respond to codes and rapid responses
- Management of step-down level patients required
- No procedures required
- EMR/Documentation: Cerner Community Works
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with hospitalist work experience required
- Vermont medical license required (or willingness to obtain)
- 1-2 years of comparable inpatient/hospitalist adult medicine experience required
- Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required, no exceptions
- NPDB report required within 30 days of offer
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days (pending timely VT state license)
- Approved travel reimbursements include lodging and mileage at IRS rate
