Nocturnist Hospitalist Locums Near Nashville, TN | 7p-7a Nights | No Call | No Procedures Required

Job description

Start: November 1, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 13 weeks
Coverage: Nights only - overnight admissions and clinical coverage, including CCU
Schedule: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM; 7 on / 7 off preferred, with consecutive-night blocks split among multiple physicians also considered
Call: No call
Volume: Average daily census approximately 90; 12-15 admissions per night (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital
Procedures: None required

Overnight admissions and clinical coverage as the sole nocturnist
Respond to all overhead codes
Provide overnight coverage for the CCU under a hybrid model, consulting on CCU patients who may transition to the hospitalist service on the floor
CCU APP available until approximately midnight; nocturnist responds to CCU needs thereafter
Swing-shift APP available until approximately 1:00 AM to assist with admissions
On-call intensivist available by phone for additional support
Timely documentation and handoff to the day team

Requirements
Board Certified/Board Eligible with hospital medicine experience
Active Tennessee license and DEA required at time of submittal (no licensing assistance available)
NPI number required with submission
Comfortable working independently overnight with APP and on-call intensivist support
Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
Credentialing timeline: minimum 90 days
Travel, lodging, rental car, parking, and mileage covered per facility policy
