Nocturnist Hospitalist Opportunity in Hendersonville, Tennessee

Job description

Position Highlights:
•Start Date: 11/2/2026
•Preferred Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
•Alternative: Will consider coverage in blocks of several consecutive nights with multiple physicians
•Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
•Night Coverage: Nocturnist is responsible for overnight admissions and clinical coverage

Patient Volume:
•Average Daily Census: Approximately 90 patients
•Average Night Admissions: 12–15 admissions from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
•Swing Shift APP: Available until approximately 1:00 AM to assist with admissions and coverage

Responsibilities:
•Respond to all overhead codes
•Provide overnight coverage for the CCU
•Consult on CCU patients who are ultimately admitted to the floor
•CCU Coverage & Support
•Hybrid CCU model: Hospitalists consult on CCU patients because these patients may transition to the hospitalist service on the floor
•CCU has an APP available until approximately midnight
•Nocturnist responds to CCU needs after the CCU APP leaves
•Intensivist is always on call and available by phone for additional support

•No procedures required
•Nocturnist works independently overnight with support from APPs and the on-call intensivist
