Locum - Physician - Hospitalist Needed in Petoskey, MI

INTERNAL MEDICINE HOSPITALIST – LOCUM TENENS

COVERAGE DATES: December 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027

SCHEDULE

✓ 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
✓ One week on / one week off
✓ Coverage dates currently include:

December 1–7, 2026

December 29, 2026–January 4, 2027
✓ Additional dates may become available.

PRACTICE SETTING

✓ Hospital-based inpatient coverage
✓ Adult inpatient care
✓ No ICU/CCU responsibilities
✓ Approximately 16 inpatients per day
✓ Cerner EHR

RESPONSIBILITIES

✓ Conduct inpatient rounds and manage adult medical patients
✓ Provide intermittent inpatient coverage
✓ Assist with occasional code coverage
✓ Work collaboratively with APPs, who handle admissions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

✓ Board Certified in Internal Medicine
✓ Active Michigan medical license in hand
✓ BLS certification
✓ ACLS certification
✓ DEA registration; verbal confirmation required
✓ Clean background required for expedited privileging
✓ Availability must be provided with submission

Candidates must reside in one of the following states:

✓ Illinois
✓ Indiana
✓ Ohio
✓ Pennsylvania
✓ Wisconsin

CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE

Candidates must meet applicable employee health requirements, including:

✓ Seasonal influenza vaccination
✓ COVID-19 documentation or applicable declination
✓ TB screening and questionnaire
✓ Hepatitis B vaccination or acceptable titer/declination
✓ MMR vaccination series or acceptable titers
✓ Varicella vaccination series or acceptable titers
✓ Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

✓ Malpractice coverage is included
✓ Orientation is required
✓ Providers must clock in and out using the designated timekeeping system
✓ Travel and lodging reimbursement, if applicable, is subject to client policy and limits
