24-Hour Call Only | Inpatient Coverage | Short-Term Assignment

Assignment Details

Coverage Type: Call Only (24-hour shifts)

Dates: Early March 2026 (4-day assignment)

Practice Setting: Inpatient

Trauma Level: III

EMR: Athena / Medhost

Support Staff: Yes

Clinical Responsibilities

Inpatient consults

Emergency Department consults

Transfer evaluations and management

Full-spectrum GI coverage

Procedural Skills Required:

Upper GI endoscopy

Esophageal dilation and manometry

Esophageal manometry interpretation

Small bowel biopsy

Lower GI endoscopy

Sigmoidoscopy

Colonoscopy

Liver biopsy

Insertion and management of Sengstaken-Blakemore tube

ERCP preferred

Requirements

Board Certified in Gastroenterology – Required

Gastroenterology Fellowship – Required

Active Texas medical license – Required

ACLS certification – Required

Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 10 days
