Northern Indiana - Between Detroit & Chicago- Endocrinology
Practice Description: To share endocrine care of a population of at least 250,000 as 2nd Endocrinologist. Current 75-year-old board certified FACE and FACP wants to decrease outpatient/inpatient practice to 1-2 days per week. Second full time Endocrinologist joined group in 2013. Practice is supported by 20 years+ experienced full time ANP, CDE and full time RD, CDE. Diagnostic Imaging includes CT/MRI, nuclear medicine and bone mineral densitometry. High complexity lab services are available on site. Practice includes a large diabetic as well as thyroid practice with a smaller population of patients having pituitary parathyroid, dyslipidemic and osteoporosis problems. The expectation would be for a new partner to build a practice designed to meet their aspirations. Partnership consideration within 1-2 years.
Caseload Averages: Hospital - infrequent emergent consults (2-4 per month).
Office: 20 to 22 per day, some Internal Medicine patient mix.
Call Rotation: No Endocrinology. Full time hospitalist program covers inpatient services. May occasionally share 1:10 IM 'back up call' during high census periods.
Salary Range: $215,000 guaranteed minimum. Potential signing bonus.
Number of existing physicians in specialty: 1.5
Description of Practice environment (number of patient rooms, staff compliment, equipment available): office and two exam rooms, one LPN or RN with other staff, appointments, receptionist, secretary, etc. all shared with other internists. Excellent surgical and internal medicine sub specialty backup within the group.
Description of Hospital environment (as it applies to your specialty): Modern, full service 320-bed single community hospital with complete Radiology and Nuclear Medicine assistance. Quality laboratory and pharmacy available. ADA certified diabetic education program in place."
