Endocrinology Locums in Southern Illinois | 2 Weeks/Month | M-F Days, No Call | Epic
Job description
Start: August 31 or September 8, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 13 weeks (ongoing need - screening for 2027 availability)
Coverage: Outpatient endocrinology clinic, two weeks per month
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00-17:00 (Standard 5 x 8s); last patient scheduled at 4:15p
Coverage Weeks: 8/31-9/4, 9/8-9/11, 9/28-10/2, 10/5-10/9, 10/26-10/30, 11/2-11/6, 11/30-12/4, 12/7-12/11
Call: No call
Volume: 12-15 patients/day
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic within an acute care hospital setting
Support Staff: RN, diabetes educator, dietitian, and 1 APP
EMR: Epic
Outpatient endocrinology evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up
Common conditions managed include hyper/hypothyroidism, Graves disease, thyroid nodules, pituitary disorders, and diabetes
Perform FNA as appropriate
Timely documentation in Epic
Requirements
Board Certified in Internal Medicine with completed Endocrinology fellowship
Active Illinois license and DEA/CSR required (not open to licensure - need coverage too soon)
BLS required
Minimum 1 year of experience preferred
Epic charting experience required
COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Credentialing: 60 days standard; temporary privileges can often be granted in a few weeks with a clean background
Travel: Airfare (1 checked bag), hotel, and rental car with gas OR mileage for personal vehicle
