⚡ POSITION OVERVIEW:
Seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum opportunity in a critical access hospital setting. This role offers low patient volume, 24-hour in-house coverage, and ongoing monthly shift opportunities.
📅 SCHEDULE:
• Average of 3 shifts per month
• 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM), occasional 12-hour shifts
• In-house call coverage (sleep room available)

July 4 (7:00 AM) – July 6 (7:00 AM)


July 12 (7:00 AM) – July 13 (7:00 AM)


July 19 (7:00 AM) – July 20 (7:00 AM)


July 29 (7:00 PM) – August 3 (7:00 AM)


• Ongoing locum coverage available
⚕️ CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide emergency department coverage with low daily volume (~4 patients/day)
• Manage inpatient responsibilities including observation, acute, and swingbed patients (~4 daily census)
• Deliver comprehensive emergency care and stabilize patients as needed
• Utilize Epic (TogetherCare) EMR for documentation
👥 SUPPORT & WORKFLOW:
• 2 RNs providing nursing support
• 1 CNA per provider
• 4 Advanced Practice Providers on staff (no supervision required)
🖥️ PRACTICE DETAILS:
• Critical Access Hospital setting
• 3 ED treatment rooms and 20 inpatient beds
• Onsite imaging, lab, and pharmacy services available
🛫 TRAVEL & REIMBURSEMENT:
• Flights reimbursed (round-trip cap applies)
• Lodging reimbursed (based on standard rate guidelines)
• Rental car and mileage reimbursement available
🛑 REQUIREMENTS:
• Board Certified (ABEM or FP/IM with recent Emergency Medicine experience)
• Active Iowa license required
• Must be available for listed coverage dates
• Clean malpractice and background history required
📄 SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
• Self-Query NPDB report (within 30 days) required at time of presentation
• Ability to meet all credentialing and documentation requirements
