Emergency Medicine NP/PA Locum Opportunity – Lovington, NM

Location: Lovington, New Mexico

Specialty: Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Start Date: September 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)

Assignment Length: 13 Weeks with Option to Extend

Schedule

• 3 x 12-hour blocked shifts per week

• 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

• Schedule options:

* Sunday–Tuesday
* Wednesday–Friday

• Full-time coverage (12 shifts per month)
• Coverage may be split between two providers

Practice Setting

• Critical Access Hospital

• Emergency Department only

• EMR: Epic

Patient Volume

• Approximately 5–20 patients per 12-hour shift

• Average daily volume: 32–45 patients

• No more than 2 patients per hour

Patient Population

• All ages

• Emergency Medicine cases including medical and trauma

• Community includes oil field and farming-related injuries

• Occasional oncology patients

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat ESI Level 3–5 patients

• Perform suturing, wound care, and other minor procedures

• Rare occasional intubations

• Admit patients and coordinate care with the hospitalist

• No inpatient rounding responsibilities

Support Staff

• Emergency Medicine Physician

• 4 Registered Nurses

• Nurse Supervisor

• Unit Clerk

• Full laboratory and imaging support

Requirements

• Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Accepted NP certifications:

* Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
* Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
* Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP)

• Active New Mexico license required

• DEA and CSR required prior to start

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required

• ATLS preferred (may obtain after start)

• Minimum 1–2 years of Emergency Medicine experience

• Required vaccinations (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Orientation

• Day 1: HR onboarding and Epic training

• Day 2: Department orientation

Credentialing

• Approximately 60 days

Travel

• Travel expenses reimbursed
