Dermatology Physician – Locums (Outpatient Focus) - Bay Area CA

Job description

We are seeking a California-licensed Dermatologist for part-time locum tenens coverage in CA. This opportunity is ideal for a local Bay Area provider looking for flexible, low-commitment clinic days in a well-supported outpatient setting.

📅 Schedule & Coverage

Preferred Coverage: Thursdays, 2–3x per month, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Alternate Options Considered:

Wednesday afternoons

Monday mornings

Select Monday afternoons

Call: Some call possible

May include remote video consults a few hours per week

Contract Length: 6 months, ongoing

🏥 Practice Setting

Setting: Predominantly outpatient clinic

Call Consults: If needed, may involve inpatient consults

Support Staff: 1 nursing support staff

EMR: Epic

👥 Patient Mix & Volume

Patients per Day: ~24

Patient Population: Adults and pediatrics (ages 13+)

Case Mix: General medical dermatology and complex medical dermatology

No Mohs

🔧 Scope of Work

Perform dermatologic biopsies

Manage in-person cases not appropriate for photo review

Support an established teledermatology platform (providers submit photos for review)

Comfortable managing pediatric dermatology (13+)

✅ Requirements

Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible

Licensure: Active California license required

DEA: Required

Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent dermatology experience

• 6 months, ongoing
• No Call
• Mix of general medical derm and complex medical derm, no Mohs
