Facility:
This well-established medical center is a comprehensive inpatient facility featuring 250 total beds, including 30 ICU beds, serving an adult and geriatric patient population. The facility offers strong physician support with other Interventional Cardiologists present during locum coverage, a collaborative practice environment, and travel reimbursement including flight, hotel, and rental car.

Physician - Interventional Cardiology

Job Details:

• Provide locum interventional cardiology coverage in an inpatient/call practice setting
• Staffed onsite weekdays: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• On-call weekday evenings: Monday - Friday, 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• On-call weekends: Saturday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM
• Average of 2 inpatient admissions per physician per day
• STEMI call aligned with unassigned call and noninvasive coverage
• Call volume includes approximately 159 STEMI activations in 2025 with a 47% cancellation rate
• Providers will receive more phone calls while on-call than emergent call backs
• Potential for some rounding responsibilities
• Documentation via EPIC EMR
• Required procedures: Balloon Angioplasties, Coronary Angioplasty, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Heart Catheterization, Medical Management of Vascular Disease, Coronary Angiograms, Embolic Protection, Carotid Artery Stenting, and Atherectomy
• Board Certification required
• Active Virginia state license required
• BLS/ACLS required
• Clean malpractice history required
• A Self-Query NPDB report required at time of presentation (pulled within 30 days)
• Credentialing via Emergency or Temporary Privileges
