WHAT YOUR DAY/WEEK ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
You'll work within a hybrid anesthesia team where physicians both medically direct and personally perform cases. The department uses a release-order system, meaning the day's finish time can vary depending on whether you're call, pre-call or post-call. Pre-call physicians are typically second out and may be released between 1–3 PM, while the post-call physician is first out/on standby. Home call requires being able to return within 30 minutes, with callback volume described as relatively low.
🎯 Best Fit
TX-licensed Anesthesiologist comfortable working across both medical direction and personally performed cases. Best suited for someone comfortable with OB, regional blocks and light CV/TEE who likes the Austin market and can participate in home call.
📍 Geographic Hook
Georgetown is located just north of Austin, providing convenient access to the broader Austin metro while offering a smaller-community setting. It's particularly practical for Texas-based providers who want a Central Texas assignment without commuting into downtown Austin every day.
