Job description

Location: Albany, Located in the heart of New York’s Capital District, is a medium sized area with an approximate population of 98,000, offering all the amenities of a larger urban area in a beautiful, scenic, and affordable setting. Facility: Acute care community hospital in northeastern New York state. Provides 442 beds and has more than 900 staff physicians and nearly 6,000 employees. Opportunity: Must be willing to cover cases out of two locations Number of Operating Rooms: 30 Schedule: variable- 8,10,12 hour shifts On call: The call rotation is 1:5 with first call every eighth night, no second call. Cases are primarily cardiac and vascular, there is no OB or trauma. Provide anesthesia care for patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG, valve replacements, and other complex cardiac surgeries. Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: Cardiac Cases per day- 6-8 cases Will NOT be required to supervise CRNAs Patient demographic: primarily adult and geriatric- some child Provide general and regional anesthesia for a variety of endoscopic, cardiac, orthopedic, pediatric, obstetric, cosmetic, and general surgical procedures. Collaborate closely with the team of cardiac surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care of cardiac patients. Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of anesthesia protocols and practices within the institute.
