Anesthesiologist – Locum Tenens (Full-Time | Out-of-State Candidates Only)

Description:
▸Full-time locum tenens Anesthesiologist opportunity for out-of-state candidates only
▸Must have full-time availability (minimum 20 shifts/month)
▸Must be available every week of the month
▸Clinical interview with Chief CRNA / Site Medical Director / leadership required
▸Strict credentialing and compliance requirements apply
▸Temp/expedited privileges possible (up to 60 days) for clean files

▸High-volume anesthesia service with expanding surgical capacity
▸Case mix includes general surgery, neuro, spine, thoracic, ortho, OB/GYN, GI, TEE, EP, and interventional radiology
▸Majority case types: ortho, general, OB/GYN
▸Includes OB ORs, GI, EP, IR, and multiple operating rooms
▸EMR: Medaxion
▸~800–900 cases per month
▸60% supervision of residents/APPs, 40% performing own cases (GI/TEE/EP/IR)

Job Responsibilities:
▸Provide anesthesia services across multiple specialties (OB, ortho, general, neuro, spine, ▸thoracic, GI, EP, IR)
▸Provide OB anesthesia and perform basic regional blocks (TAP, supraclavicular, adductor canal, popliteal)
▸Supervise residents and APPs (majority of OR/OB coverage)
▸Perform own cases in GI, TEE, EP, and IR
▸Participate in weekday and weekend call schedules (beeper and in-house)
▸Weeknight call coverage (1:8 rotation, includes post-call day off)
▸Weekend call coverage (1:8 in-house + beeper rotation, Friday–Monday coverage periods)
▸Ensure safe anesthesia care and adherence to hospital protocols
▸Maintain accurate documentation in Medaxion EMR
▸Complete credentialing requirements including case logs within 5 days of approval

Qualifications:
▸Board Certified Anesthesiologist required
▸Active Florida medical license required
▸Active Florida DEA required
▸ACLS and BLS required
▸100% clean background (no clinical, legal, or pending issues)
▸Must provide 24 months of case logs within 5 days of credentialing approval
▸Must provide copy of out-of-state driver’s license at presentation
▸Must have 10 or fewer affiliations
▸Must be able to work full-time schedule (minimum 20 shifts/month)
▸Must not have worked at this site or affiliated sites within past 24 months
▸Must be available for required clinical interview with leadership
▸Must submit full availability details (start date, shift preferences, holidays, blackout dates)

Working Hours:
▸Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM start (end time varies based on case “peel out” list)
▸Average 40–45 hours/week
▸Schedule options include 8s and 10s or variable end-time “peel out” coverage
▸Weekend coverage required
▸Weeknight call: 1:8 beeper rotation (post-call day off for 1st call)
▸Weekend call: 1:8 in-house Saturday/Sunday 7a–6p + 24-hour beeper coverage rotation
▸Additional weekend beeper coverage Friday–Monday (rotation-based)

Skills:
▸Multispecialty anesthesia expertise
▸OB anesthesia and regional block proficiency (TAP, supraclavicular, adductor canal, popliteal)
▸Experience supervising residents and APPs
▸Strong ability to manage high-volume OR environment
▸Proficiency in cardiac-adjacent and interventional cases (TEE/EP/IR)
▸Strong clinical judgment and adaptability to variable end times
▸Ability to function in both independent and supervised case settings
▸Strong communication and teamwork skills
