Job description

TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician for a full-time permanent opportunity in Huntsville, Alabama. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to adolescents and adults, with occasional pediatric care as applicable, while working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff. The role includes general primary care, LGBTQI+ healthcare, and the management of HIV, Hepatitis C, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Clinical Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive acute and chronic primary care to adolescents and adults, with occasional pediatric care as applicable.
Deliver primary care services to LGBTQI+ patients and provide medical management of HIV, Hepatitis C, HIV prevention, and STIs, including testing and treatment.
Obtain and document patient histories, perform physical examinations, order diagnostic testing, coordinate consultations, and make referrals using evidence-based medicine.
Review laboratory results, imaging, procedure results, and specialty consultation notes in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate treatment and follow-up.
Document patient encounters and pertinent clinical information in the EMR, completing charts within required timeframes.
Provide telemedicine services as needed to improve access and continuity of care.
Perform minor office-based procedures and review EKGs as permitted by clinical privileges.
Collaborate with specialists to manage complex patients and coordinate referrals when care falls outside the physician’s scope of practice.
Serve as a collaborating physician for advanced practice providers in accordance with Alabama requirements and complete applicable Collaborative Practice Agreement responsibilities.
Screen patients and connect them with appropriate community services.
Serve as the physician designee for medication, vaccine, and other patient care programs.

Team Leadership & Quality Improvement
Lead patient care team meetings, including daily huddles.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to promote evidence-based care and a supportive team environment.
Support quality improvement initiatives, participate in assigned committee activities, and complete peer reviews as required.
Work with clinical leadership to develop and improve healthcare protocols, procedures, forms, and standing orders.
Promote practice efficiency, reduce waste, and support process improvement efforts.
Help meet organizational objectives related to quality, patient engagement, documentation, coding, and billing.
Educate patients, staff, and community members on health conditions, prevention, treatment, and available interventions.
Assist with precepting students and residents as needed.
Promote clinic services and support compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and grant or funding requirements.

Schedule & Additional Responsibilities
Participate in an after-hours answering service rotation and serve as a daytime point of contact.
Travel to satellite clinics to provide patient care as needed.
Maintain continuing education and required professional certifications.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned by clinical or operational leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements
M.D. or D.O. with a specialty in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Current board certification through one of the following:
(ABFM)
(AOBFM)
(ABIM)
(AOBIM)
Eligible for DEA registration and an Alabama Controlled Substances Certificate.
