# Family Medicine / Internal Medicine Physician – Locum Tenens

* **Travel:** Flight, lodging, and rental car reimbursement available
## 🩺 JOB OVERVIEW
A healthcare organization is seeking a qualified **Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician** for a full-time locum tenens assignment beginning in September. The physician will provide outpatient primary care while the organization recruits for a permanent provider.
This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking a predictable Monday–Friday schedule with **no call, no late clinic, and no after-hours charting**.
## 📅 SCHEDULE & COVERAGE
* Monday–Friday
* 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
* No late clinic
* No call responsibilities
* No after-hours charting
* Full-time coverage
* Ongoing assignment while permanent recruitment is underway
## 👥 PATIENT POPULATION
The practice provides comprehensive primary care to a broad patient population.
* Infants
* Children
* Adolescents
* Adults
* Retirees/Geriatric patients
**Family Medicine:** Full-spectrum family medicine, from babies through retirees.
**Internal Medicine:** Physicians will see patients **18 years and older**, while pediatric patients are managed by FNPs.
## 🏥 PRACTICE SETTING
* **100% Outpatient**
* Average daily patient volume: **8–14 patients**
* No inpatient responsibilities
* No trauma designation
* No leadership or teaching responsibilities required
## 🩺 RESPONSIBILITIES
The physician will be responsible for:
* Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions
* Performing comprehensive physical examinations
* Developing individualized treatment plans
* Providing preventive and wellness-focused care
* Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
* Coordinating specialty referrals when appropriate
* Managing ongoing primary care needs
* Participating in quality improvement initiatives
* Providing patient-centered, evidence-based care

## ✅ REQUIREMENTS
* **Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine – Required**
* **New Mexico medical license – Required**
* **BLS certification – Required**
* **DEA registration – Required**
* **Minimum 2–3 years of experience – Required**
* Clean professional background
* No malpractice or medical license issues
* Must meet all credentialing requirements

For eligible providers, the assignment includes reimbursement for:

* Lodging

**Estimated Credentialing Timeframe:** Approximately 30 days
